On October 24th the NMSU triathlon team took President Emma Durkin, Chris Chavez, Sergio Juarez, Casey Culteri, and Laurissa Bustillos to the Pumpkinman triathlon in Boulder City, NV. The Pumpkinman triathlon in Boulder City is known for its hills that reach 6% grades or higher on the bike ride, no easy task to accomplish, and yet Casey, Chris, and Sergio were able to finish strong, even with this being their first ever Olympic distance triathlon. Laurissa and Emma also had an amazing performance in their race. We are very proud of all our triathletes!
This race concludes collegiate racing for the fall in our 2015-2016 triathlon season, but will still make appearances in local races around our community until the end of the year. We look forward to the spring with Mountain Collegiate Conference Regionals and USAT Collegiate Nationals in mind!
